It is said that the original meaning of 'take the cake' was to win a prize or a competition — that people as far back as the ancient Greeks used the word cake to mean "a symbolic prize." Over time, it grew to have a more negative, sarcastic meaning in English: "I can't believe this mess. It just takes the cake."

Cake is just too darn good to be associated with a negative, sarcastic phrase.  How could society allow this to happen?

We want to revive the positive version of 'takes the cake'.
